The Spring Arbor Volleyball team opened this weekend at the U of M Dearborn Early Bird Classic.
After a rough first match against Cornerstone that did not go the Cougar's way, the team found their tempo and elevated the play to compete solidly against a ranked  Madonna side.

On day two, the Cougars easily put away Marygrove College, controlling the match both offensively and defensively.

In the last match of the weekend, the University of St. Francis (IL) proved too much for the Cougars.

"It was learning weekend for us. We will make some adjustments this week in practice that will elevate our game next weekend," commented SAU head coach Carol Gates.  "It was a test for where we are currently but it is also early in the season. This team is very talented. They will recover quickly and improve each time they compete. The players have the ability to perform better than they did this week and I am confident that they will be resilient. Each week is a new week to compete. It is going to be an exciting season."
