MARION, IN -- The SAU men's track & field team was back in action this weekend competing at Indiana Wesleyan University.

"Today was another step forward in our development as we prepare for the MCC Championships in 13 weeks," said Head Coach Dante Ottolini.

Sophomore Taylor Swihart had a big day triple jumping for the first time in his track career hitting a mark of 39'11, he came back in the open 400m and clocked a NCCAA National Qualifying time of 52.88 finishing in 2nd place and closed out the day with a 3rd place finish in the 200 with a time of 23.68.

Freshman Tim Canfield finished 2nd in the pole vault with a jump of 14'11, 3rd highest in Spring Arbor University history.

Sophomore Lance Nelson finished 3rd in the 3,000m in his first race in almost a year due to an injury. Sophomore Jared Lauber, Junior Dewayne Gray, Sophomore Chris Conrad and Sophomore Kameron Mills finished 1st in the Distance Medley Relay running a time of 10:43

"Today we had guys competing with heavy legs coming off a big week of training but were still able to show gains from last week's meet," continued Ottolini.

The men will return to action this Friday at Findlay University.
