CEDARVILLE, OH --  It was another record day for Spring Arbor University’s women's track and field team that was highlighted with National Champions being crowned and an NCCAA National record broken.

Leading the way was the 4 x 800m relay team of Faith Gunderson, Carissa Hudson, Libby Allen & Michaela Crew in a National Championship winning time of 9:25.63 which set the National record that was set by Spring Arbor University in 2010 at the same track. This time ranks them 1st in the Nation for the NAIA Championship coming up in March 1-3

Our second National Championship team was the 4x200m relay team of Kayla Finkbeiner, Jessica Lee, Jessica Czinder, and Tammera Bean with a winning time of 1:49.95. What made this accomplishment even more impressive is that they ran out of the slow heat to win the race.

There were two other Lady Cougar performances making All-American status on the day. Carissa Hudson followed up her 4x800m performance with a runner-up position in the 800m and Emily Gibler finished 3rd in the shot put with a toss of 41' 5" inch which is a qualifying mark for the NAIA championship in March. Gibbers toss is a top ten all-time throw in the NCCAA Championship meet.
