SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Ryan MacLean, from Resurrection Catholic Secondary School in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, has signed with the Spring Arbor University men's tennis program, announced head coach Terry Darling.
"We are thrilled that Ryan will be joining our team this fall," said Darling. "He is a talented player as well as a strong student and we expect that he will be able to immediately help us to be a better team."
MacLean has been competing at the high school, provincial, and national level. He is currently ranked 16th at his age level in Ontario and 61st overall for 18-under players. He also ranks 148th nationally for 18-under players. In addition to his singles play, MacLean also competes in doubles and mixed doubles.
Along with tennis, MacLean played baseball for eight years and also competed in cross country, triathlon, and badminton at his high school.
MacLean enjoys giving back to his community, completing over 400 hours of volunteer work, including coaching tennis at summer camps, and working ball crew at ATP events such as the Roger Cup in Toronto.
