

Bippes is entering his thirteenth season as the Spring Arbor University's head women's cross country coach and his 16th season as the women's head track and field coach.
Since becoming head coach, Bippes has lead the women's team to one national championship and three runner-up finishes at the National Christian College Athletic Association cross country national meet. During the 1999 cross country season, Bippes led the women's team to an NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) national runner-up finish and has helped qualified the women's team for the NAIA national meet eleven times out of the past twelve years, placing in the top 10 nationally four times. The SAU women's cross country program holds the distinction of being ranked as the 16th program in NAIA National meet history to have achieved the most wins.
Bippes was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Coach of the Year for women's cross country four times and the MCC Coach of the Year once. He received these honors after the women's program took home a WHAC Conference record - six team Cross Country Championship titles in a row. During the 2006 cross country season, the women's team won their first MCC Conference title and during the 2005 and 2006 season, the teams also won their first two regional titles. In 2005, Bippes was named region VIII coach of the year and in 2000 he received the distanced honor of being named National Coach of the Year for the NCCAA.
On the track side, Bippes has coached over 75 NAIA All-Americans and 35 NAIA All-American Scholar Athletes. He has coached nine NAIA National event champions and two of his teams have placed fourth at the NAIA National Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Bippes earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Spring Arbor University in 1993 and then completed a Master of Arts in Education degree from Spring Arbor University in 2002.
Along with his coaching responsibilities, Bippes is also a seventh grade science teacher at R. W. Kidder Middle School within the Northwest School District. Bippes and his wife, Julie, live in Rives Junction, Michigan.
