Before coming to Spring Arbor in 1995, Peggy Calderone coached high school tennis at a school in Jackson, Mich. Between 1992 and 1997, Calderone lead her No. 1 singles player and No. 1 doubles team to the National Championships. In 1995, she was awarded the Coach of the Year from the NCCAA.

Over the years, Calderone has played on several different competitive tennis teams, including the 4.5 travel team from 1985-1994. During that time, Calderone and her husband, Craig, owned and operated the Jackson Racquet Club. They have since installed a tennis court at their home where they give private lessons.

The Calderones live in Jackson and have three children: Annie, Michael and Tommy.
