The upcoming season will mark Ryan Frost’s seventh year at the helm of the women's basketball program. Since his arrival the program has seen steady improvement, including 10 wins in 2012-13, 11 wins in 2013-14 and 17 wins in 2015-16 - the most wins in a single season since 2003-04.
Frost came to SAU from Taylor University where he served as an assistant in the men’s basketball program under NAIA Hall of Fame coach Paul Patterson. Prior to Taylor, he was the lead assistant and Head JV Coach at fellow Crossroads League member Mount Vernon Nazarene University. In his seven years at MVNU, the Cougars made six trips to the NAIA National Tournament along with compiling a 176-53 record.
Frost also gained valuable experience at the NCAA Division I level while on staff at Valparaiso University in 2000-01. That year, the Crusaders played in the NCAA Tournament, losing to the eventual national champion, Michigan State University.
The Clifton Park, N.Y. native earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene College in 1998 and a Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration from Ball State University in 2003.
Ryan and his wife, Joni, have four daughters, Bria, Campbelle, Lila and Annika. The Frost family resides in Spring Arbor Township.
Coach Glenn begins her fourth season on the Cougars coaching staff. Glenn will work with perimeter players, assist in scouting, recruitment and day-to-day operations of the SAU program.
Glenn is no stranger to the Cougars having played four years, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. The Warsaw, Indiana native scored over 700 points and hauled in nearly 400 rebounds during her career. Glenn currently resides in Spring Arbor.
Eric Salsbury begins his third season as an assistant coach with the Cougars and 15th season in coaching overall. Salsbury will work with the post players along with assisting with recruiting and scouting duties.
Salsbury comes to Spring Arbor after spending six seasons as an assistant in the women’s basketball program at Jackson College. Prior to that, Salsbury worked in the prep ranks as an assistant boy’s varsity coach at Williamston High School (’04-’06) and Lakeside Christian (’95-’96). In between those two assistant positions Salsbury was the boy’s varsity head coach at Lakeside Christian High School from 1996-99.
The Jackson, Michigan native earned his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and played basketball in high school at East Jackson. Salsbury and his wife, Vicki, reside in Brooklyn, with their son Nathan, a freshman at SAU, and daughters Emily and Allison. Salsbury is currently working at Consumers Energy.
